It didn’t suck. Featuring special guest AronRa, the first ever Thinking Atheist PODCAST was an entertaining, if not epic, event.
At just under an hour, the host and special guest (AronRa) managed to keep the show flowing and touched on a number of subjects. The general topic of discussion, however, seemed to center on how horrific the Bible is as a source of morality. Both The Thinking Atheist and AronRa gave excellent examples throughout the show of how the Bible fails miserably as a moral guide.
I have one (very minor) criticism of the show. It was 15 minutes into the podcast before the first caller was able to speak. While those listeners who were not familiar with AronRa or his background probably welcomed the autobiographical intro from the special guest, I felt it was just a tad too long. As criticisms go, that’s nothing. I was able to sit through the entire show without squirming and for me that’s saying something.

Even if they missed the original TV broadcast, many folks, no doubt are familiar with the Trading Spouses (November, 2005) YouTube clips of the “God Warrior” lady Marguerite Perrin. While her behavior is bizarre (and entertaining), she is not what I would call representative of Christians.
This other, lesser known clip from the show, in which the other mother (Jeanne D’Amico, purveyor of New Age woo) meets the friends of the “God Warrior”, really shows the type of arrogance that is all too common among the Christian right here in the U.S. The fun starts at 1:58
I don’t know what’s more disturbing; the fanatic, frothing-at-the-mouth hysterics of the “God Warrior” or the cold, arrogant and mean-spirited interrogating by her friends.

This is the Reverend “Dr.” Terry Jones aka Braveheart. He’s the star of “The Braveheart Show” and yes, you read that correctly at the top of the screen…”Obama is President because he is black”. And no, I’m not making this shit up.
I first caught on to this guy because of a post on The Friendly Atheist in which a burning of Qurans by “Dr.” Jones’ church was being discussed.
Seriously, though, that’s not the half of it. In fact, if you look at the rest of this guy’s site, the book burning comes off as pretty tame.
As you’ve no doubt guessed, my favorite part of his site is his video series called “The Braveheart Show”.
They make it so easy. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Muslim Monkeys in Machinegun Mayhem
You’ve seen Planet of the Apes, and as that was based on a story written by some French guy, we all knew this was inevitable. We just didn’t know how it was going to start…until now.
In a groundbreaking piece of journalism that rivals FOX News in both its scope and professionalism, the Chinese People’s Daily has released a report on the unthinkable; machine-gun toting monkeys are being trained by the Taliban to battle U.S. troops in Afghanistan. It seems the madness that is militant Islam knows no bounds.
For now, it’s limited to macaques and baboons, but you know damn well they’ll be graduating up to chimps, orangutans and gorillas any day now.
And now there’s an even more disturbing development on the home front. When I told my wife the news, she was suspiciously worried about the damn monkeys.

Let’s see… she’s hot, Russian and, it seems…a monkey sympathizer.
