YouTube atheist TruthSurge hits another one out of the park with the clever “My Least Favorite Things”.
It didn’t suck. Featuring special guest AronRa, the first ever Thinking Atheist PODCAST was an entertaining, if not epic, event.
At just under an hour, the host and special guest (AronRa) managed to keep the show flowing and touched on a number of subjects. The general topic of discussion, however, seemed to center on how horrific the Bible is as a source of morality. Both The Thinking Atheist and AronRa gave excellent examples throughout the show of how the Bible fails miserably as a moral guide.
I have one (very minor) criticism of the show. It was 15 minutes into the podcast before the first caller was able to speak. While those listeners who were not familiar with AronRa or his background probably welcomed the autobiographical intro from the special guest, I felt it was just a tad too long. As criticisms go, that’s nothing. I was able to sit through the entire show without squirming and for me that’s saying something.
Remember the short-lived The Flash television series of 1990? No? You’re not alone, not many folks watched it past the 3rd episode. Why? The villains sucked, that’s why. Crappy villains make for a crappy show.
The video I’m posting today is the latest challenge from YouTube’s Thundef00t to asshat creatard Nephilimfree. In regards to the whole atheist vs creationist thing on YouTube, this is starting to get lame.
Seriously, don’t creationists have anyone better than Nephilimfree to put forward as their champion? It’s common knowledge that a good (as in really bad, smart, capable, etc.) villain makes for a good film, comic or novel. The same goes for these YouTube “showdowns”.
Without a good bad guy, there’s no real threat, no challenge. Without a threat or real challenge, it becomes nothing more than shooting fish in a barrel. Still, like when passing a car wreck, I can’t help but slow down and check out the carnage…
Here’s a great post on responsibility from my main man Andy at Laughing in Purgatory.
This is an older video with Rowan Atkinson that one of my former co-workers just sent me. For those of you who have seen it before, my apologies.
My favorite parts are when he addresses atheists and Christians:-)
There are few things in life (aside from Fox News) that give me a reason to laugh. Axe Cop is one of them. Created by a team of brothers, Axe Cop is written by 6-year-old Malachai (the comic started when he was 5) and is drawn by his older brother, Ethan. Click on either of the pics below to be taken directly to a listing of episodes. Great stuff.
