Woo detectors everywhere should be going off like crazy right now. One thing I have to know. What in the hell is with the heroic, Wagnerian soundtrack tacked on to this video? Beyond corny.
At any rate, as this has come out of China, it’s immediately suspect. Let’s not forget the source of the monkey sniper story…
Reader Terry the Censor sent me this link to offer some plausible explanations. Thanks!

I saw a video once of a jet aircraft that made something like this. I wouldn’t be surprised if you find it is from a jet and it has been changed to hide that fact.

Well, it’s NOT an alien spacecraft. That much I can state with a high degree of confidence.

I agree. It looks way different than the ones I’ve seen.

AHA! That’s where I recognize you from. I think you sat next to me on the flight to Albuquerque.

It’s a Russian missile.

Forgetomori has an article compiling the research on the images of the Hangzhou airport sighting.

So, if it’s a Russian missile, then the Chinese government is aware of that. Then the purpose of releasing this “UFO” footage was to send a message to the intelligence agencies of Russia and the USA: “We know who you are and saw what you did.”

No. The Russians released their own footage (follow the link) as did NASA (I believe the Forgetomori article has a link to their page).

They were sending supplies to the ISS, not testing a weapon. You don’t seem to have a point.

Oh. Terribly sorry. I could have sworn I had a point around here somewhere…

Okay, context switch here (and possibly fodder for another of your posts?). I just read this article http://www.juancole.com/2010/07/palin-on-the-ground-zero-mosque-vs-the-founding-fathers.html
(a response to Palin’s “refudiate” tweet) and wondered, how do you feel about having a mosque built on the 9/11 site? (And if you’ve blogged about that before, my apologies for not noticing and/or remembering.)

DISCLAIMER: I do on occasion look to unfriendly sources (such as FAUX News) for information as the extreme left likes to smother anything that doesn’t fit into their namby-pamby definition of what is suitable for the public to see and hear.
Here’s the link to my old posting on the subject.

I just read the article. He understands Jefferson and he understands American history. He doesn’t understand Islam well enough to comment on it intelligently. He knows only enough for him to draw dangerously naive conclusions. Bravo to him for not being a mindless bigot, but Islam is not the religion he describes it to be. He needs to expand his reading list a bit, I’d say.
Read some of my other earlier posts on the subject to get a feeling for what it’s really all about.

Does this have anything to do with the original post?

I was just about to write a comment on your original post about the mosque when your comment here came in. I’ll do that, but wanted to respond to you here about the article link I sent you. When I first heard about the idea of building a mosque there, I thought, Over my dead body. After reading this guy’s article, though, I’m not *quite* as outraged (although it’s still a stupid idea.) I will search the blog for more info – thanks!

No. That’s what “context switch” means.
Let me guess, you were the hall monitor, right?
Get off my case.
